Discord alerts when your Minecraft server crashes
Get a Discord or Slack message when a Minecraft server goes offline, crash-loops, runs low on memory or disk, drops TPS or fails a backup, and another when it recovers.
Most server owners find out about a crash from their players. MineOps watches each Minecraft server from an agent on its own machine and posts to a Discord or Slack channel when something breaks, then again when it is fixed. Alerts are part of every plan, including Free.
What MineOps can alert on
- Minecraft server offline
- Fires when a server that was running goes down without anyone asking MineOps to stop it: a crash, a freeze or a stop from outside. 5 minutes by default.
- Crash loop
- Fires when a server starts 3 times or more within 10 minutes.
- Agent offline
- Fires when the machine stops reporting, for example after a power cut or a lost connection. 5 minutes by default.
- Disk space low
- Fires when less than 10% of the machine's disk is free.
- Host CPU or memory high
- Fires when above 90% for 5 minutes.
- TPS low or MSPT high
- Fires when ticks per second below 15, or a tick taking over 50 ms, for 5 minutes.
- Backup failed or overdue
- Fires when a backup fails, or a server has gone 26 hours without a successful one (Plus and up).
Every threshold and duration can be changed, per server or for the whole organization. A rule waits a cooldown before it notifies again, and data that is out of date never fires an alert. Stopping a server through MineOps is not an outage, so planned restarts stay quiet.
Send alerts to a Discord channel
- In Discord, open Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook, choose the channel and copy the webhook URL.
- In MineOps, open Alerts → Where alerts go, add a Discord channel and paste the URL. It is stored encrypted and only ever shown shortened.
- Press Test. If a message does not arrive, the channel says why; a deleted webhook only needs a new URL.
- Choose Add recommended alerts to watch every server for going offline, its agent disconnecting, crash loops, low disk space and failed backups in one click.
Slack works the same way: create a Slack app with an incoming webhook for the channel and paste its URL.
A live status message for your community
A Discord channel can also keep live status: one message that lists each Minecraft server as online, offline, starting or under maintenance, with its player count, edited within a minute of a change. Player names are never shown. Players can check it before asking “is the server down?”.
Keep alerts for what matters
- Maintenance windows pause alerts while you work on a server, for up to 7 days.
- Acknowledge marks an incident as seen; it closes by itself once the server is healthy again.
- Crash restarts (Plus and up) start a crashed server again a limited number of times, then stop and tell you instead of looping.
Alerts for TPS and MSPT need those numbers: servers MineOps creates on Paper or Purpur get the MineOps plugin that reports them by themselves. Everything else works from the agent alone. See what MineOps measures.
