Questions about MineOps
Supported servers and machines, ports, what happens when MineOps is unreachable, plans and billing, backups and uninstalling.
- Which Minecraft servers does MineOps work with?
- Paper, Purpur and Pufferfish get every feature, as do Velocity and BungeeCord networks. Folia, Spigot, vanilla, Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge get monitoring, alerts and operations with fewer details. MineOps also creates and runs Bedrock and Hytale servers, with start, stop and status.
- Which machines can run the agent?
- Linux on amd64 or arm64 with systemd and OpenSSL 3, and macOS 13 or newer, on Intel or Apple silicon. A home server, a spare PC or a VPS all work. Windows is not supported. MineOps creates new servers on both; Bedrock servers need Linux.
- I already use Crafty Controller. Do I have to switch?
- No. MineOps finds the servers Crafty runs and can start, stop and change them, while Crafty stays in charge. It also finds servers you run as a service or by hand, and Docker containers once the machine's owner lets the agent use Docker.
- Does MineOps work with Pterodactyl, Pelican or AMP?
- Not yet. The agent does not find the servers those panels run, so MineOps cannot watch them today.
- Do I need to open a port?
- No. The agent connects out over HTTPS; nothing on your machine listens for MineOps.
- Can MineOps run any command on my machine?
- No. Only specific operations exist, each off until the machine's owner allows it, and each recorded in the audit log. Console commands go to the Minecraft console only.
- What happens if MineOps is down?
- Your Minecraft servers keep running. The agent keeps its queue of commands and reconnects when MineOps is back; nothing is lost or run twice.
- Where do alerts go?
- To the dashboard, and to the Discord and Slack channels you add. MineOps does not send alerts by email.
- Where are my backups?
- On your own machine, in each server's backup folder. MineOps keeps only their sizes and checksums. Copy them somewhere else too.
- What does the Free plan include?
- Two Minecraft servers on one machine, two members, a day of history, alerts, player history and a public status page, for as long as you like. Backups, schedules and crash restarts are on Plus and up.
- Do I need a card for the trial?
- No. Every new organization gets 14 days of Network. When it ends you keep everything on Free and can subscribe whenever you like.
- What happens if a payment fails or I go over a limit?
- Nothing is deleted and nothing stops. After a failed payment you keep your plan for 14 days while you fix it; over a limit, you just can't add more until you upgrade or remove something.
- How do I remove MineOps from a machine?
- Choose Uninstall agent on the machine's Agent setup. Your servers and worlds stay, including those MineOps hosts, and setting the agent up again later reconnects them.
- Is MineOps made by Mojang or Microsoft?
- No. MineOps is an independent service. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
