Minecraft server status in Discord, after MCStatusBot
MCStatusBot went offline on 1 September 2026. Keep a live status message in your Discord with each server's state and player count, and a status page for players.
MCStatusBot, the Discord bot that showed whether a Minecraft server was online in over 70,000 Discord servers, went offline on 1 September 2026. If your community relied on it, here are your options.
For a server you don't run
Another public status bot that pings a server's address is the simplest replacement. A ping only sees what the server answers from outside, so it can't tell a crash from a planned restart, but it works for any server.
For your own servers: a live status message
If the servers run on your own Linux or Mac machine, MineOps can keep one message in a Discord channel that lists each Minecraft server as online, offline, starting or under maintenance, with how many players are on. It is edited within a minute of a change, so the channel never fills up with status posts. Player names are never shown.
Because the MineOps agent runs next to your servers, the status knows more than a ping does: a stop you made through MineOps or a maintenance window shows as planned, not as an outage.
- Connect your machine to MineOps with one command. Two servers are free.
- In Discord, open Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook, pick the channel and copy the URL.
- In MineOps, open Alerts → Where alerts go, add a Discord channel with that URL and choose Live status on it. A channel can show every server, or just one.
Tell staff when something breaks
A status message tells players what is up. For you and your staff, MineOps also sends alerts when a server crashes or crash-loops, the machine goes offline, the disk fills up or a backup fails, and again when it recovers. Many owners send status to a public channel and alerts to a staff channel.
A status page outside Discord
Players who aren't in your Discord can use a public status page: whether each server is online, how many play, the address to join, its uptime over the last day and the last week's outages.
